Achievement

IPM/CM on Medical Equipment at (Operating Theatre, ICU, OPD and the Wards Medical and surgical):

  1. During this period, we have conducted preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) for over 150 different types of medical equipment across multiple departments in the hospital, including operating theatre, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Out Patient Department (OPD), Annexe and the wards. This initiative is aimed at ensuring the safety, reliability, and functionality of critical Medical Equipment.

 

  1. Preventive Maintenance (PM) on PSA Plant: The implementation of preventive maintenance on our Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) plant has resulted in a continuous and reliable supply of high-purity medical gas in the hospital, which is essential for our patient care. During this period, we were able to produce over 1,600 filled cylinders with high flow oxygen that were used to supply different department within the hospital. Also we have been supporting other Hospitals across the Country with high flow oxygen supply, to name but a few, O.D.C.H, P.C.M.H, Rokupa Government Hospital, Makeni Government Hospital, M.S.F and also the National Emergency and Ambulance Services (NEMS) etc.
  1. Inventory on Medical Equipment: Our efficient inventory management system has enabled us to maintain adequate stock levels of medical equipment, reducing Medical Equipment downtime and preventing shortages through the use of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  2. In-Service Capacity Building:  we have been able to organize in service training sessions and workshops for technicians and equipment end users this has significantly improved the skills and knowledge of our staff, allowing them to stay updated with the latest medical practices and technologies. Also, standard operating procedure guides (SOP) has been developed for some specialized medical equipment.
  3. Corrective Maintenance (CM) and Preventive Maintenance (PM) on Building and Infrastructure: Ongoing corrective and preventive maintenance activities on building and infrastructure have addressed wear and tear, creating a safer and more comfortable environment for patients and staff which include Plumbing, Carpentry, Manson and Electrical etc.
  4. Preventive Maintenance (PM) on Power Generating Plant: Regular preventive maintenance on our power generating plant was done on quarterly bases which ensured the continuous availability of backup power to the hospital, enhancing our ability to provide uninterrupted patient care.
  5. Preventive Maintenance (PM) on Mortuary Cold Room and Air Conditioning Units: Proactive maintenance on the mortuary cold room and air conditioning units was done on monthly and quarterly bases. We were able to service over 250 Air Conditioning Units within the hospital since the start of this year. Also, the mortuary cold room was constantly serviced to preserve the integrity of the deceased and maintained a suitable working environment for Medical staff and relatives.
  6. Quarterly and Monthly Reporting: Our robust reporting system, featuring quarterly and monthly reports, has facilitated decision-making, resource allocation, and performance monitoring, leading to more informed decision-making through the use of our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  7. Preventive Maintenance (PM) on Water Supply System and Purification: The Hospital Management and Maintenance team are planning to implement Preventive maintenance program on our water supply system and purification processes. This is to ensure a reliable supply of safe and hygienic water, which is a fundamental requirement for healthcare facilities.
  8. Installation of Submersible Pump: The hospital management and maintenance team are also planning to install a submersible pump which is also parts of our annual activity plan. This is to improve our water supply system reliability, which will result in a better access to clean and pure water for patients and staff.
  9. Preventive and Corrective Maintenance on Incinerator: Scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on the incinerator was done on quarterly bases. This is to maintain a safe and efficient medical waste disposal system, promoting a clean and healthy environment.
